Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach which helps clients change by developing solutions rather than dwelling on problems. In the most basic sense, SFBT is a hope friendly, positive emotion eliciting, future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change.
Solution-Focused Therapy develop solutions based off the client’s vision of how their life will be better without having the current problem or it being decreased. Therapist and client then carefully search through the client’s life experience and behavioral patterns to discover the necessary steps needed to implement the desired change.
Remember therapy does not have to be forever, nor in most cases should it be. SFBT allows you to commit to short term treatment specifically aimed at creating a change, without going down a rabbit hole of how you got here.
